9 Cocktail Method

Start with perfecting the Basil Gimlet, then make your way down the list. Suggested tools: 1 & 1/2 ounce measuring jigger, 2 mixing tins, and strainer. Get a citrus squeezer tool and always use fresh squeezed ingredients if possible, it makes all the difference.

Simple syrup, as the name suggests, is easy to make. Combine equal parts water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring gently until the sugar dissolves. Store in the fridge if possible.

For the Basil Gimlet, if you don’t have any of the tools, thats fine. 1 ounce = 1/8 of a cup, so just measure the 3 out equally. If you don’t have a muddler tool use a wooden spoon. If you don’t have mixing tins, just find a way to cover the liquid (like in some kind of thermos cup) and shake it up.
